Principal's Message

Welcome to North Mianus Elementary School!!!

We have designed this website with the hope it will be useful for students, parents, teachers and community members as a resource and guide to North Mianus School. We hope this site provides you with helpful information and you find it easy to use. Please feel free to contact us at 203-637-9730 if you have any further questions or need further information.

North Mianus School is a wonderful school serving approximately 420 students from kindergarten through grade 5. We are located on a beautiful campus in Riverside, Connecticut. Our school is proud to offer a comprehensive, cognitively engaging and rigorous educational program in a blended learning environment. Additionally, our school reflects the rich fabric of our diversity as we have students from all over the world and are so lucky to have the opportunity to learn from each other!

The Greenwich Public Schools are committed to the Connecticut Core State Standards (CCSS), designed to prepare students for college and career readiness. The Standards help teachers ensure their students have the skills and knowledge they need to be successful by providing clear goals for student learning. The CCSS also supports the Greenwich Vision of the Graduate. At North Mianus, we are also committed to our GPS Norms: Be Here, Be Safe, Be Honest, Care for Self and Others, and Let Go and Move On! These norms are our mantra (for adults too!) and they permeate every aspect of our school culture.

North Mianus School has a highly experienced, talented, and dynamic team of professionals who are dedicated to the success of every student. As a school community, we believe that building a positive learning environment, where all members are valued and respected for their unique strengths and differences, is fundamental to student success. By fostering a sense of curiosity and a love of learning in our students, we help them become responsible, self-motivated learners.

North Mianus School is lucky to have the support of an energetic, enthusiastic and involved parent body devoted to supporting the efforts of the staff and the success of our students. Our PTA sponsors a variety of special events and programs throughout the school year that enhance and enrich the educational experience of our youngsters and contributes immeasurably to our sense of community and love of learning.

We are looking forward to another year filled with excitement, curiosity and community building.
